 MILTON INCIDENTS & NEWS 


 

FIREFIGHTERS RECEIVE HONORABLE MENTION

FORE FIREFIGHTERS OF THE YEAR

 

Asst. Chief Allan Koenig, Lieutenant Stephen Rivieccio and firefighter Gary Lazoroff received awards at the Hudson Valley Volunteers Firefighters Convention in Ellenville. They received this award for there actions taken on October 20, 2007.

 

 


ACCIDENT WITH ROLL-OVER

 

June 28th - On Saturday evening around 7:00pm Milton was dispatched to a roll-over auto accident with injuries. All occupants were out, one patient was taken to the hospital. Milton units returned to service within an hour.

 

 

 


MVA ON ROUTE 9W

 

Milton Fire Department was dispatch for a MVA with injuries. The car was heading north bound, hit a rock wall in the south bound lane and ended up in the middle of route 9W. Milton FD was on scene for 30 minutes and then returned to quarters.

 

 

 


HELICOPTER STAND-BY DURING FOREST FIRE

 

May 4th - The Milton fire department was on stand-by duty at the Minnuwaska Forest Fire. E39-20 was on stand-by with their foam system hooked up. From 7am to 7pm E39-20 landed helicopters. The copters were on stand bye incase a flare up on the fire would to occur.

 

   

 


WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE GOES 2 ALARMS

 

Apr 27th - At 2:30 am Highland Fire Dept was dispatched to a possible structure fire on Van Orden Road. Car 31 arrived on the scene to find a working fire.  He transmitted a second alarm which brought Marlboro Hose Company’s fast team and also requested a engine from Milton. E39-30 was the second engine on the scene and laid 1000ft of 5 inch hose from the hydrant to e31-10 supply line which was laid from the drive way to the fire. The house fire was now nearly fully involved. All occupants were out on arrival of car 31 and it was deemed no interior all exterior due to the fast spreading fire.  The fire was under control within a hour. Milton and Highland remained on the scene till about 7 am.
